Keegan Slaney is a 24-year-old educator, athlete, and Independent candidate fighting for the underdogs of Ohio’s 2nd District.
My childhood was defined by the gridiron. At Turpin High School, I was an All-Ohio football player. I dreamed of D1 glory, but falling short of that dream taught me something better: a relentless work ethic and an attitude unafraid of failure.
I’m the kid who asked for an Earl Boykins jersey for Christmas because I wanted to see the small guy win. At 24, running for federal office as an Independent without party backing, I am embracing that "David vs. Goliath" spirit.
"District 2 is full of underdogs trying to make the next step in their life better than the last. I am one of you."

I'm currently living in my parents' basement, saving every cent for graduate school to become a Physical Therapist. This is the reality for many young people today, and it's a reality our representatives need to understand.
45% of Americans identify as Independent. It's time our system respects that.
Pledging $30k of my salary to foodbanks. No child should be food insecure.
